I'm Nancy Castaldo, a curious author trying to make a difference one book at a time. Thanks for visiting my blog where you'll find curated book selections, musings on the environment, ways to engage students in STEM, and cool things about wildlife. I also have a passion for photography, so you'll find some photos too.

SQUIRREL is out and about!
It is the season for scrambling, scurring squirrels and for the release of my latest book, SQUIRREL: HOW A BACKYARD FORAGER SHAPES OUR WORLD!
I'm particularly excited about this book because it's the first book I've authored for grown-up readers. And it already has obtained some wonderful praise.
This does not mean I've crossed over to the dark side and plan to abandon my precious kidlit readers - on the contrary - I wrote this book about a (seemingly) ubiquitous species to dive a little more deeply into the topic of coexistence. Each book, each subject, dictates how I will share it with readers. While celebrating this book's release, I'm currently immersed in sharing my two spring kidlit nonfiction titles, WHALES IN THE CITY and RIVERKEEPER with young readers this autumn. And, I'm working on new books for my younger readers.
Being an author is a wild job. It changes every day, as does my own personal curiosity. I can't wait to share the news on what's coming next.
